How to troubleshoot a 15.5 OHC Tecumseh engine for tractor/ riding Lawn Mower?
Engine seems to start and run fine cold. After about 5-10 minutes the engine will stall out. After a minute or two it starts up but then stalls again within a minute over and over again. I noticed before it stalls the Governor lever moves forward and in-turn pushes the linkage connected to the Carb. which cause it to die out. I already replaced the governor spring, gummed out the Carb, and replaced the fuel filter.
What might be the cause of this problem ?

The first thing that I would check is the ignition. When it dies I would check for spark to the plugs. It could be the ignition module heating up and quitting. If you have spark the next thing would be fuel. Does the fuel flow freely from the tank? Is the tank clean and free of water? If yes I would suspect the carburetor. Start by removing the bowl from the bottom of the carburetor. Is there dirt and water in it? If yes I would remove the carburetor and properly clean it and install a Rebuild Kit.
Spraying gumout on and into the carburetor will not clean the parts that need it. It should be taken apart and soaked in a quality carburetor cleaner. Make sure that you understand how the linkage hooks back up before you take it apart. A digital photo is a good way to get the linkage back correctly.
