How to give your bike an annual review correctly?
Do you aspire to ride your bike in the middle of the winter months? Do the next best thing and reconnect with your bike giving an annual review:
- To deep clean the chain. Soak the string in an environmentally friendly degreaser for cleaning deep between links, rollers, and pins.
- True wheels. All these dents during the year will affect the tension of your spokes and, consequently, your wheel alignment. Take the time to bring in the case.
- Replace cables and housing. Inspect the cables and the housing in which they run. If you notice any kinks, rust, fraying, or accumulation of dirt and grime, it's probably time to install new ones.
- Revision hubs. Consolidation of the hubs is annually particularly important if you have the traditional centers with bearings to lose. If you have sealed bearings, you can probably go a few years.
- The headphones. Annual maintenance is a good time to inspect, clean, adjust, and review of the helmet.
- Review pedals. The pedals are another component that uses bearings. As with hubs, if you want them to continue spinning smoothly, giving them an overhaul.
- Review the bottom bracket. The pedal is the center of your transmission. All revolutions of the pedals during additive a year, so do yourself a favor and bike overhaul or replace the pedal.
- Clean the rear derailleur. Emphasis here is on removing the derailleur so that you can clean the dirt where he built the highest on the two jockey wheels.
