Murray Lawn Mower wont move, can you help?
OK, I have just replace the drive belt and put everything how he was, but the mower will not move. Its a '99 Murray lawn mower. The pulleys appear to do their jobs, the waist is indeed moving as it should and everything looks good, but it will not / Move. It Runs Great job on the blades, it does not move forward or backward so I thought it might be something with the gas petal that can give any kind will not be moving, but I do not know how to check. Another person said that it could be the brake pedal and something is loose, but I'm sure that when I maintain this is to start that allows the mower to start .... and the mower does not start .. just does not move at all .... All tires are aired up ... Suggestions? I look for certain patterns on the net for the mower, but do not see any that are useful, and not to talk about the gas ....
There are two belts on your tractor mowers. One belt drives the blades long, thin your sound based on what you said. The second belt transmission. Place the transmission in neutral and the brake that will allow you to get off the tractor without the engine cut out. Carefully look under the tractor and see if the second belt is in motion as the drive belt will be the transmission. If the belt is not moving, you should check the alignment of the belt. Stop the tractor and there should be a diagram on the left landing gear showing the proper alignment. If the belt is moving you may have a transmission blown.
