I have a 2000 Ford Explorer and four-wheel high and four-wheel low-light blinks six times?
the couple minutes it all and I 'm not really sure that the four-Wheel Drive is not engaged. Anyone know what the problem might be?
Check your sensor Hall. I read a form and that is what I found: For all you people who have flashing "4 wheel drive" and "4WD Low" here's a little story for you. for about 8 months now, I had the 6 flashes every minute it seems symptoms move 4WD OK, but after few minutes the lights start flashing and I'm not sure if it is in 4 wheel drive or not. Well I took it to the dealer and asked diagnosis. after a charge of $ 75, they told me that the computer recorded a "internal error electromagnetic clutch" and that I need a new transfer case. The mechanic was very nice, but said it was considered as a "point of no employment." They have very little investigation to come up with that answer. To make a long story short, after much research from me (some on this forum). I thought there was a 90% chance that one of my Hall sensors had failed. I also found that each dealer in the world knows that these sensors. There are dozens of stories on this forum that the information on this subject. I bought two for $ 30.00 each. I changed the one on the rear driveshaft first. it took about 10 minutes to cut the son of the former. Butt splice a new sensor to install it and paint the electrical connections with liquid tape. This fixed my problem immediately. I've never had to install the sensor front driveshaft
