Saving Water  can save you money, and diverts less wastewater from our rivers, bays, and estuaries which helps keep the environment healthy. It can also reduce water and wastewater treatment costs . This lowers energy demand, which helps prevent air pollution.

It's not just the dry areas of the country which need to be concerned with water efficiency. As our population continues to grow, demands on precious water resources increase. The major water use inside the home is toilet flushing.  In fact over 75% of water used inside the home is to flush toilets.  . A family of four can save 14,000 to 25,000 gallons of water per year from installing high efficiency toilets that use 1.6 gallons or less per flush.

To save water from flushing at home without having to replace your toilet, you might consider the MJSI HydroRight Dual Flush Converter, which will turn a single-flush, standard-valve toilet into a dual-flush model. To use the HydroRight Dual Flush Converter, you remove your toilet's old flapper and handle, slide the converter over the tank's overflow tube, and fasten a dual-flush button. An adjustable float on the converter lets you control how much water is used in each flush mode, according to MJSI President Michael Schuster. That way, if you're not getting the desired results in the short flush, you can always crank up the volume.

I recommend also purchasing the Hydroclean Kit.  It is a replacement for the water flow valve,  that reduces the amount of water that goes through the overflow valve during refilling.  If you have an old system that uses a ball cock, you will need this kit.

I really do recommend the HydroRight dual flush converter if you're trying to reduce your water use. The HydroRight can be installed with no prior plumbing experience   It doesn't require batteries.  The manufacturer claims that you can save up to $100 per year on your water bill, and that seems realistic.  You may even save more money, not to mention the other savings in water treatment costs, and in overall water usage.

Volvo 240 DL carb rebuild.?

Car has a B21A engine with a Zenith 175 CD carb. The engine is running really rich at low throttle, and I'm pretty sure the needle/jet is worn out or the float, valve, or seat is not working.

I need a part number to get a Rebuild Kit, but I can't find one (nothing on the carb other than 175 CD, which doesn't work), and no auto parts place or internet seems to have an applicability chart. Anybody know where I can find this number?

Sorry I couldn't be of more help but carburetor 240s are pretty rare these days so not many parts distributors support them. You might also find some help at www.revolvstore.com. The Revolvstore is a Volvo-only wrecking yard in Tucson, AZ. I've been dealing with them for almost thirty years and am not disappointed. They ship worldwide.
