Proteinuria, albuminuria also called albumin or urine is a condition in which urine contains an abnormal amount of protein. Albumin is the main protein in blood. Proteins are the building blocks for all body parts, including muscles, bones, hair and nails. The proteins in the blood also perform a number of important functions. They protect the body against infections, help blood clot, and keep the right amount of fluid circulating throughout the body.

As blood passes through healthy kidneys, they filter waste and leave things the body needs, such as albumin and other proteins. Most proteins are too large to pass through the filters of kidneys in urine. However, the proteins of the blood can leak into the urine when the filters of the kidney, called glomeruli, are damaged.

Proteinuria is a sign of chronic kidney disease (CKD), which can lead to diabetes, hypertension and diseases cause inflammation in the kidneys. For this reason, tests for albumin in urine is part of a routine medical evaluation everyone. Kidney disease is sometimes called renal disease. If CKD progresses, it can lead to late renal disease (ESRD), when the kidneys fail not completely. A person with ESRD must receive a kidney transplant or regular treatment with blood-cleansing calledeople diabetes, hypertension or family history of people at risk for proteinuria. United States, diabetes is the leading cause of ESRD. In type 1 and type 2 diabetes, albumin in urine is an early sign of deterioration of renal function. With the decline of renal function, the amount of albumin in the urine increases.

Another risk factor for developing proteinuria is high, or high blood pressure. Proteinuria in a person with high blood pressure is an indicator of renal function decreases. If hypertension not controlled, the person can progress to total kidney failure.

Afro-Americans are more likely than whites high blood pressure and kidney problems develop from, even when their blood pressure is only moderately high. In fact, African-Americans are six times more likely than whites to develop kidney failure related to hypertension.

Other groups at risk for proteinuria are American Indians, Hispanics / Latinos, Pacific Islander Americans, older people and people overweight. These risk groups and individuals who have a family history of kidney disease should have their urine tested regularly.

Proteinuria has no signs or symptoms in its early stages. Large amounts of protein in the urine can lead to look foamy in the toilet. Also, because the protein has left the body, blood can not absorb enough liquid, if the swelling of the hands, feet, abdomen, or face may occur. This swelling is called edema. These are signs of high protein loss and indicate that kidney disease has progressed. Laboratory tests is the only way to know if the protein in the urine of a person before extensive kidney damage occurs. Until recently, a measure specific proteins needed a urine sample for 24 hours. In a collection of 24 hours, the patient's urine into a container, which is kept the refrigerator between trips to the bathroom. The patient is instructed to begin collecting the urine after the first trip to the bathroom in the morning. Every drop of urine for the rest of the day should be collected in the container. The next morning, the patient adds the first urine after waking and the collection is complete.

Points to remember

• Proteinuria is a condition in which urine contains a detectable amount of protein.
• Proteinuria is a sign of chronic kidney disease (CKD).
• Groups at risk for proteinuria including African Americans, American Indians, Hispanics / Latinos, Pacific Islander Americans, older people, obese people, People with diabetes or hypertension, and people who have a family history of kidney disease.
• Proteinuria may no signs or symptoms. Laboratory testing is the only way to know if the protein in the urine of a person.
• Several health organizations recommend regular monitoring of renal disease if proteinuria can be detected and treated before it progresses.
• A person with diabetes, hypertension, or both should strive to control blood sugar and blood pressure.

Unani treatment

1. bahdana Lu'aab or isabgol Lu'aab Lu'aab Tukhm khatm or 10 ml
2. Sheerah Khaskhas 7 g or 5 g zarshak Sheera Arq Gau Zaban with 100 ml Sharbat Anar sheerein 20 ml or 20 ml Sharbat Neelofar Sharbat Zarshak or 30 ml.
3. Kunjad SAfAIDS with 20 g sugar beneficial in all types of kulliya Zoa'f.
4. After giving mushil wa Munazziz, pak Halwa supari 20 grams with milk.
5. Halwa Mochrie 20 grams with milk is also beneficial.
6. Majoon Sar'at 5 gm
7. Koknar Qurs 5 gm
8. Kate Tabasheer Gil Armani Qabrsi, Gil Makhtoom, SAfAIDS Sandal, Gulnar, Aqaqia, soos Rabal, Surkh Gul shadanj magsool ODSI, muqasar khurfa Tukhm, khusk Khar, Sa't Gilo silajeet Sat Kushta qlai, Marvareed each gm 2, khaskhas Tukhm, tukhm Magaz khayareen each g 4, Nishastan, kaddo tukhm magaz, badam Magaz, Magaz fandaq, Magaz Chilgoza, Mochrie each g 3. Grind to powder and all, use this powder 10 g twice daily. Very effective formulation kulliya Zoaf.

Although I am originally from India but followed Pak cricket as well and see the last night I felt really win PCB is to blame for the current fiasco, they have just given a man's job to young boys against world class teams, including Australia too regularly and form the England team recently, with the inclusion of Mohd Yusuf, Shoib Akhtar & return + Gul Afridi the team stabilized and even managed to win last night, so PCB should have a good mix of experience and youth to face the best teams because of their failures bad!
