Have 5HP Briggs & Stratton eng; only runs when put gas into choke; cleaned carb twice; no hole in rubber dia?
The engine will only run when you manually feed it gas; i cleaned it twice and mde suer all of the passages were clean; also made sure rubber diaphram did not have any holes in it; what else can I do?
I really checked the diaphram carefully; what else could it be?
It could be several things.
The easiest to check is the air vent in the Gas Cap. Loosen the cap and then see if it runs better.
Also does the fuel flow through the gas line if it is off the carburetor? This does not apply to the type with carburetor mounted on the gas tank.
If the preceding things do not solve the problem, Inspect the gaskets around the carburetor, any small air leak will prevent enough intake manifold pressure differential from pulling the gas through the carburetor.
If this does not solve the problem, take it to the nearest service center and have them repair it.
There are B&S repair and service manuals in many libraries and try Amazon for the manual.
