Why would time stop if you travel at the speed of light?
why would time stop if i travel at the speed of light? can you give me an example to make me understand more of this? if you are running at the speed of light, looking at a huge clock behind you, wouldnt it be a second after you traveled 300 000 000 m/s? and you just see its still zero because the light that should reflect the clock wont reach you? and why do matters turn to energy when they travel at the speed of light??? please explain
These are not so simple to understand. But if you were travelling at the speed of light - in fact we know that you could not travel that fast, but as a thought experiment - time would pass completely normally for you, but you would observe that time in places behind and ahead of you that were moving at the speed of light relative to you, would be stopped.
Matter does not turn to energy. It cannot travel at the speed of light.
Consider that we are travelling at very close to the speed of light for observers on distant galaxies. And all motion is only relative to some other object. There is no "real" speed, only relative speed.
